Whether you have just bought a new gas barbeque or charcoal bbq from us, or you have all the bbq equipment and barbeque tools and consider yourself to be a bbq pro, the following series of articles details some of our customers’ most favourite recipes.
Grilled pizza bread is a great idea and really different to what may be prepared for you when you visit another person’s barbeque party this summer. All you need is some frozen dough and a few extra ingredients and you are good to go.
Firstly, you need to barbeque the seasoning. Get a small saucepan and combine all the following seasoning ingredients:
- 2 tsp ground oregano
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- Half a tsp of curry powder
- Half a tsp of salt
- Half a tsp of garlic powder
- Half a tsp of finely ground red pepper flakes
- A quarter of a tsp of ground cumin
- A quarter of a tsp of cayenne pepper
Then simply put the saucepan on the barbeque, whether it is an electric bbq, charcoal bbq or a gas barbeque (they all do exactly the same job). Whisk the seasoning mixture on a lowish heat until it has been warmed, and then put it on the side to set for an hour or two.
Then all you need to do is flatten out the dough mixture and paste it with virgin olive oil with a brush. Then put it on the barbeque at a medium temperature until it starts to brown nicely. You probably need to hold it over the barbeque for about three minutes, and don’t fret if the crust starts to bubble up slightly. Keep pasting it with olive oil if it seems to be sticking to the barbeque grill.
Then simply remove it from the barbeque grill and apply the seasoning on top of some chopped tomatoes, chopped onions and probably some fresh basil as well. Then you can cut it into individual pieces and impress all your guests at this year’s family barbeque. It really is a great recipe and goes perfectly with a medium steak and some sausages…and some pepper sauce!
