Patio Heaters: All Your Questions and Queries Answered Part 2

In this article we are continuing to address the main questions patio heater customers and prospective customers have about our products.  It is worth looking at our first article about patio heaters which addresses issues such as energy efficiency, cost and the different fuels patio heaters burn.

Do patio heater covers, wheels and regulators come as standard?

Many patio heater salesmen/women will advertise these extra components as ‘free’.  Don’t be dragged in by this sales talk as these are vital components and really should come with your patio heater as standard.  Covers are important if you are looking to store the patio heater outside for any period of time (except when of course it is being used!) and regulators are a vital safety feature.  Most patio heaters also come with an LPG hose.

Do I need a commercial patio heater?

Many customers see this term banded around on the internet a lot and tell us they need a ‘commercial patio heater’.  Usually this is not necessary when you work out what they are going to be using the patio heater for, but for the sake of completion, a commercial patio heater will be seen in pubs, bars and restaurants.  They are manufactured with higher grade components, often robust stainless steel, and these patio heaters are engineered to cope with the heavy duty of commercial life.  We can provide more information about commercial patio heaters on request.

Are patio heaters easy to set up and use?

Patio heaters, non-commercial ones, are brilliantly simple to operate.  Since 2006, most patio heater models have been fitted with quick start controls which means you literally just have to press ‘go’ and wait half a minute before your patio heater is fired up and ready to go!

Where can I get patio heater gas from?

You can either get this yourself in which case we recommend propane for all models, using an eleven or thirteen kilogram gas cylinder with a clip-on fitting.  However, there are many sites out there on the internet (and on the high street) which supply gas direct to peoples’ doors for this very purpose.  It is really simple and all you need to do is read the specification of your patio heater down the phone and they will be able to tell you which is the best deal for you, based on the model and the environment you are heating up.

In the final article in this series, we will be looking at patio heater storage, safety and how you can go about ordering your patio heater today!
